Towel Rack and Towel Ladder Ideas

When it comes to designing, caring for, and using a bathroom, there is scarcely anything more basic than having somewhere to put your towels. Yet, many people hardly give it a thought and end up with a bathroom that is made to look untidy and feel unfriendly because there is inadequate space to put the towels.

It is a problem that is so easy to put right. With just a little thought, planning and expense, you can put adequate towel storage facilities into any bathroom in quick time. But first, give it some thought; think what irritates you about the towel situation as it is in your bathroom. Do you have too many towels for the rail or rails you have? Do you never have a towel to hand when you get out of the shower? Are you finding your towels never dry, and you would like to have fresh towels stored in the bathroom ready for use?

For permanent storage, a bathroom cupboard/cabinet for towels is the best bet; you may find them described as bathroom linen cabinets. With a specific cabinet for your newly laundered towels, then they are always there when you want to bring them into use, while the dirty towels are being cleaned. White bathroom cabinets are commonplace, and you can always get other solid wood and wood composite options.

For the towels in use, or ready for immediate use, think carefully about where you need them most, and ensure you have a towel ladder, rails and/or racks in those places. Having a good sized heated towel rack will give you the chance to dry used towels quickly, and have warm towels ready for use when you get out of the tub. Your choice of heated rack will be between plug in electric towel warmer, or plumbed in towel warmers that are hard wired.

For the ordinary unheated towel rails and racks, consider having sufficient rails inside the shower stall or over the door, but of course not so close to the shower the towels get wet. A towel rail, maybe a double rail, close to the wash basin is useful, with your main towel rack close to the tub.
